COVID-19 UPDATE
We recognize the uncertainty that exists right now. We will provide updates to this policy this fall if necessary.
VOLUNTEER POLICY
Lake Louise All Mountain Ski Club depends on volunteers to make our organization great! We need to work together to sow the seeds of athlete success and it is expected that all parents will donate their time equally to support the program(s) their children are registered in. We are a club with a culture of volunteerism. As well as supporting our athletes, volunteering is as great form of team-building that creates a community and enhances friendships for the parents, resulting in something greater than just a ski group. Importantly, volunteering within our club helps reduce fees by at least 20%. We will be hosting volunteer appreciation events throughout the year, so if nothing else, you will meet some great people to ski with!
Our 2020/2021 season volunteer policy is as follows:
Please note that this is a per family requirement and not per athlete.
Days are easy to obtain throughout the season. If you are unable to fulfill any of the roles, please contact Member Services.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The Lake Louise All Mountian Ski Club is a volunteer driven organization; the experience our children have is enhanced through parent participation.
If everyone pitches in when they can, we are sure to find success as a club. As many parents will attest, your participation will enrich the overall experience for you and your athlete(s). Notices will be sent throughout the year with requests for volunteers. Some of our annual commitments and volunteer opportunities include:
Casinos – The Lake Louise All Mountain Ski Club has a casino opportunity. These enable the Club to keep our fees as reasonable as possible. The volunteer jobs are easy to learn, very social and require no previous experience.
Calgary New & Used Ski Sale – This annual event is held in October at the Maxbell Arena. Again, no experience is required and a perk is that volunteers get first pick of the consigned equipment! There are a specific number of spots that need to be filled and if every family fills a spot then we meet our club commitment.
Club Events– Club events organized for our athletes require volunteers in many different roles. This is a GREAT way to learn about how events are run. No experience is necessary and you will come away having learned a lot! The biggest benefit is the opportunity to cheer on our youngest racers as they fly down the courses!
Alberta Alpine Races hosted at the Lake Louise Ski Resort – Each year the club hosts a few races that athletes from all over the province come to attend. We need all hands-on deck in order to make these races a success – that includes experienced volunteers and everyone else too!
Lodge Parent – Every day that our athletes are on snow, we require a lodge parent. This parent remains in the lodge with a backpack and radio (connected to all coaches) and is prepared to have athletes who are cold, tired, sick, etc. come in and sit with them until lunch or the end of the day. This helps keep all of our children safe and happy and is much appreciated so that entire groups do not lose skiing time!
NOTE: Going forward, tail-gunning will no longer count toward volunteer time. Tail gunners remain welcome, at the request of the coaches.
These are just of few of the opportunities that are already on the calendars, but more will come up throughout the season so stay tuned!
