Competition Registration Information

As a Club we will commit to attending Kickinghorse, Lake Louise, Castle Mountain and Revelstoke competitions.  If there is enough interest in other competitions (5 or more athletes) we will send a coach.

There are two types of competitions, National and Regional.  National series have open registration early December (unless you receive an email stating otherwise) and Regional series have registrations that are released by each hosting resort and their own registrations dates (a month or two prior to event).  All registrations are completed on the ‘Driven’ platform

*** Do not book or plan for an event until you have registered AND RECEIVED CONFIRMATION. Each event only accepts 100-110 athletes for the weekend.

Once registration or waitlist position has been confirmed please notify our headcoach via email.

As a club we recommend that athletes do not compete in all events or compete in more than 3 consecutive weekends. This allows for athlete decompression, alleviate the build-up of stress related to competitions, allow time for making improvements based on previous performance and most importantly have fun.

For national series competitions each athlete can only register in 3 events per season. Regional competitions are unlimited events, however, new rules states that only the first 3 regional points score toward overall standings, any after will not count.

For all events it is the responsibility of the parent or athlete to register for each event. Coaches and program directors have no access for assistance. We can only advise on when registration opens and to sign up as soon as you can, some events have sold out in 30 minutes.

Typical Competition Weekend Schedule

Inspection day will be done as a team with coaches consulting each athlete spending more time in the hazardous areas. The inspections will be slow and patience from all athletes will be much appreciated. There is always a mandatory athlete’s meeting either in the afternoon of inspection day or in the morning of comp.

In a REGIONAL COMPETITION all athletes compete in one day (generally Saturday) for qualifiers, and then Sunday is finals.

In NATIONAL SERIES, the first day following inspection is qualifiers for the 7-11 and 12-14 categories. On this day the 15-18 athletes will be asked to support other athletes, ski with parents or in a group (coaches will be committed to the competing athletes). Second day will be 15-18 qualifiers, similar day for the 7-14 year olds, if they made the cut for finals, they can train with other athletes and/or parents or support their 15-18 teammates. Sunday is finals for all age categories.

National series will generally be Thursday to Sunday, and Regional series will be a Friday-Sunday.

We will circulate competition dates to registered athletes as soon as they are available.  Please watch TeamSnap starting in the fall for any changes.
